We're going to Six Flags/Hurricane Harbor/Texas Rangers game for the day. Can my dog stay with you just for one day?
Yes but all requirements still stand (shot records, forms and spay/neuter policy) - - and please be aware that the latest you can pick your pet up is 9:00pm during the week and 8:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
What are your rates?
Please see our rates page or contact us if you have any questions or if you need a customized rate for services.
What is your application process?
We need completed forms on file, a copy of current shot records for your pet, food (if boarding) and an appointment for your first visit. Please see our requirements page for more information or contact us if you have any questions.
Do you provide dog treats?
If your dog is allowed to have treats, we do give name-brand treats to positively reward good behavior.
Can I bring my own food and/or treats?
Yes.
Do you have toys for the dogs to play with?
Yes.
Can we bring our own toys and other personal belongings?
Yes.
Who will be taking care of my dogs?
We have a fully trained staff with a variety of experience, training and strengths. We look for people who have dogs of their own and have a natural talent for working with dogs. All our staff members are trained (at minimum) on dog behavior, obedience, pet first aid and CPR.
What organizations do you belong to?
We are members of the Pet Care Services Association (PCSA), formerly known as the American Boarding Kennels Association (ABKA) and the Better Business Bureau.
Have you ever turned down any dogs before? If so, for what reason(s)?
Yes for aggressive behavior, inappropriate play, jumping/climbing walls and/or fenced areas and for destructive behavior.
Do you have separate areas for small and large dogs?
Yes, we have 2 large, 2 medium and 3 small play areas so we are always able to separate groups.
Do you ever have dog fights?
Because we screen dogs carefully and introduce them into daycare slowly, we don't tend to have dog fights. However, our staff is trained to watch for warning signs and we will separate dogs or give them a time-out when needed.
Where is the nearest vet?
We have relationships with 3 local veterinarians, all within a 2.5 mile radius of our location. In addition, there are two 24 hour emergency pet hospitals; the closest one is 13.4 miles and the other is 17.2 miles from our location.
How do you determine play groups?
We group dogs by size, play style, temperament and age. We also watch groups carefully and move pets around as needed throughout the day.
Is your facility indoor or outdoor?
Mostly indoor.
How many times per day do you walk the dogs?
We don't typically walk dogs on lead due to our open play environment.
Will staying at a mostly-indoors facility ruin my dog's house training?
No. Dogs want to please people so they tend to go potty in places that are "okay" for them to go. They also respond to smell and texture of the floor. Our floors are non-porous, painted concrete and we clean all messes immediately. Your pet does not have the same flooring or the same smells at home as he does at daycare, so potty habits are not transferred to his home environment.
How do you sanitize the facility?
We clean all accidents immediately with a chemical approved for use around pets and we clean the facility every night with bleach.
Do you have webcams?
Not at this time. However, please feel free to call us anytime to check on your pet.
Do you have an alarm system?
Yes. It is monitored 24 X 7 X 365 and we have a fire station within 0.3 miles of our location.
What breeds do you restrict?
At this time, we restrict Pit Bulls and carefully evaluate other "bully breeds" to ensure harmony in our day care groups.
What vaccinations will my dog need?
We require DHLP-CPV and Rabies annually (or 3 yr) and Bordetella annually, though we recommend the Bordetella vaccine be administered every 6 months.
Must my dog be spayed or neutered?
In order to play in day care, your pet must be spayed or neutered at the appropriate age. We will evaluate boarded pets on a case by case basis.
What sort of temperament will you look for in my dog?
We look for dogs that are friendly with people and other dogs, are energetic and not aggressive. They need to understand doggie body language and follow appropriate ques from the other dogs during play time.
What are the day care hours?
Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:00pm.
What are the day care rates?
There are many rate plans available, so please review our rates page or contact us if you have any questions or if you need a customized rate for services.
Do I need a reservation for day care?
Not unless it is your first visit or we specifically request an appointment for your pet.
Do you feed lunch when dogs are in day care?
Only if you request it and bring food for your pet.
How often do you provide water?
Clean, fresh water is always available to all pets.
Do you have a nap time?
We do not have a mandatory nap time, however, we find most dogs lie quietly and rest between approximately 11:00am-2:00pm. We can move your pet into a quiet space for a nap if needed.
How do you monitor play?
We observe dogs playing and typically use a squirt bottle with water and a firm "NO" to divert unwanted behavior. If a dog persists with bad behavior, we will remove him to a time-out space for a few minutes.
Can I leave my dog for only a few hours instead of the whole day?
Yes. 5 hours or less of day care is considered 1/2 day and is charged accordingly.
What are the boarding drop off and pickup hours?
Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:00pm; Monday-Friday 8:00pm-9:00pm; Saturday and Sunday 7:30-9:30am or 6:30-8:30pm.
What are the boarding rates?
There are many rate plans available, so please review our rates page or contact us if you have any questions or if you need a customized rate for services.
Do I need a reservation for boarding?
Yes. We will accommodate last minute boarding if we can, but we are small and tend to fill up very quickly.
Where will my dog stay at night?
Because each pet and boarding situation is unique, we have several options available for boarding, including:
Can I see where my dog will be staying?
Absolutely! In fact, we want you to come in prior to boarding your pet to meet us, look around, fill out paperwork, etc. We want you to be comfortable leaving your pet with us!
Will he/she be out during the day?
We encourage dogs to participate in daycare during the day but if your pet cannot, he will still be out in one of the smaller rooms while we are here.
Can I bring my own food/treats/bed/blanket/toys/chews, etc?
Yes, you are welcome to bring blankets, chews, toys and other items you feel comfortable leaving your pet alone with. Additionally, because many dogs are sensitive to sudden diet changes, we request you bring your pet's food so that we can avoid unnecessary stress during his/her stay.
How often do you feed boarded dogs?
Some pets are fed am or pm only; some twice a day and many younger pups are fed a third meal at lunchtime - We will feed your pet as close to his normal feeding schedule as possible.
Where is access to water?
When boarding, your pet will have clean, fresh water in his kennel or space with him at all times.
Does someone stay overnight with the dogs?
Not usually but we are there from 6:30am-9:00pm (or later). When we leave, all dogs are secure in their respective spaces, fed, not ill, tired and relaxed. We leave fans, the radio and a night light on.
Do you provide drop off or pick up services?
Not at this time.
Do you provide grooming services?
Yes.
Do I need an appointment for grooming services?
Baths and nail trims are available upon request; clips and trims are available on Thursday and Friday by appointment.
Do you have onsite training while my dog is boarding or at day care?
Not at this time, however, we do offer group training classes.
How do I sign up for group training?
