Obedience training and behavioral modification are offered by certified trainer, J.R. Fessler, owner of A Pup's Best Pal. J.R. has been training dogs, dog owners and dog trainers since 1974. J.R.'s mission is to teach you, the dog owner, to condition your dog with training that will last a lifetime. In addition to basic education, you will also gain an understanding of how to work through and correct behavioral situations with your dog.
Teaching you to use both hand and verbal commands, he only uses positive reinforcement methods. J.R. does not condone aggressiveness in dog training or in behavior modification and believes the training experience should be one of pleasure for the dog as well as the owner/handler.
J.R. will help you teach your dog to:
- Sit
- Down
- Sit-stay
- Down-stay
- Stand-stay
- Come
- Heel
- Retrieve
- Release

The next Group Training Class will begin mid-Sept.
This is a basic obedience class that runs for 5 weeks and costs $80. Class meets on-site every Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30 AM. The start date will be posted soon.
